[NEWS] - 5th Oct '08
HELLO~~
if you guys don't know already, there's a hanakimi special slated for release on the 12th of Oct!!! which is in a week's time!
woohooooooooo!

the storyline is centered around Valentine's day i think...
and it happens during ep7-8... well, once the translations come out, i'll put up the links for you guys... (:

--

Following a mostly different storyline than the manga, this live-action drama brought to us by Fuji TV sure lives up to its name as Hanazakari no Kimitachie, i.e. spontaneity in life! It also boasts quite a handful of uhh ikemens, I guess. Heh. The j-drama may overwhelm audiences at first with all the students’ crazy antics and *gasp*, Sano Izumi’s(Oguri Shun) super, over-the-roof aloofness, and *gasp gasp* a very different version of our beloved Umeda-sensei(Kamikawa Takaya). However, we soon spot something very much familiar to our hearts, our beloved comic-relief, Nakatsu Shuuichi(Ikuta Toma), and our very cute heroine Ashiya Mizuki(Horikita Maki)!
As the series goes on, those who follow closely to the comic will surely notice some adaptations from the comic, for example, the ohsaka gakuen cultural festival and the beauty pageant. Do note that the storyline has been tweaked and events have been jumbled up to suit the Japanese audience so don’t be too shocked!
Although it did not really live up to every hanakimi-comic-fan’s expectations, this light-hearted love-comedy is still a good watch. (:
p.s don’t we all love nakatsu’s crazy soliloquies?

:pointr: |TW-DRAMA|

wow. This series sure started off well and good. (:
with a loveable and very funny Mizuki or Rui Xi (Ella from SHE), quite a good-looking Izumi or Quan (Wu Chun from FeiLunHai), a real lion cub bursting with energy i.e. Shuuichi or Xiu Yi (Jiro Wang from FeiLunHai) and other cast members, I was thinking that hey, maybe tw dramas aren’t that bad anymore! Well, the beginning of this series really lived up to my expectations and it really made me laugh. Yet, towards the end, the drama did not look like it was gonna end properly and I was right. It was a mess. A total mess, it left audiences angry, confused and mostly, shocked. I’m sorry for the spoilers but hey, if you don’t want to end this series on a bitter note, stop just before the arc when the photographer comes in. I’m serious. Just stop there and enjoy the beginning of this almost-wonderful series that followed the manga as faithfully as we did. (:
(despite all the crap I muttered up there, I still put up every episode here anyway. haha)

*molests the Taiwanese Drama*

Omg....... there's no way to describe its awesomeness other than omg.

Mei Tian is so gorgeous!!!! I can't help but be all fan girly when he shows up X3

lol and the characters are so amazing, they've really done an awesome job. The expressions are to DIE for!

I think one of my favourite expressions was during the cultural festival playing volley ball :lmao: Absolutely hilarious!!!

I love it so very much  And next I will watch the JP drama, but I think the TW will have it beat. Poor Umeda isn't done justice at all :cries:

I think the TW people all look better anyway ;)

hmmmmm...
i dont really llike to do the whole 'rachh-thinks-the-jap-version-is-a-whole-lot-better argument' again. haha. but damn, i agree with you on the umeda part!! like yoohooooo? the guy in the jap version is pretty much more a metrosexual than a gay!!! grrrr. though he can be pretty funny at times, (esp when he got knocked down by the lorry. aha)

i still dont think the tw version did much justice to the manga though!! mizuki didnt come to japan to have sano fall in love with her!! although the jap version did a whole complicated story thing of how mizuki wants to have sano smile again and blah blah. i thought it followed mizuki's character better because she isnt those desperate girls around! that's what angered me most about the tw version... :/

though i gotta admit the jap version didnt really live up to its ikemen paradise tagline. hahaha...

yeah but you compare it to the manga... yeah they change some things, like the hot springs scene, but in the manga Mizuki wants to stay by Sano's side and Sano's debating his whole issue about falling in love with her and protecting her. Mizuki's still clueless.

The whole point of the manga is that even though Mizuki went there to see Sano jump, Sano ended up falling for her.

well, I haven't seen the TW version..but I have to tell you, the japanese one made me laugh so hard! OMG, just yesterday I finished watching episode 12...maybe I was kinda disappointed *SPOILEERS!!* on how "everybody" ends up going to the US and not just Sano...that was umm a no-no for me but oh well, what can I do?
And YES! I LOOOVED Nakatsu's soliloquies..his hand gestures and faces..God, I fell in love with him. And when he cried because Mizuki rejected him...buuu, I cried too...
Anyway, I recomment it veeery much. ^^

aye! haha, you should try the tw version too, mizuki and nakatsu are both really funny as well! :D
aww, if sano went there on his own, it wont really be very funny (plus we cant see nakatsu anymoreeeee!!), btw, i cant wait for the special to come out!!

argh, that very painful part! it was so sad!!! >: i guess a part of me still wishes for mizuki to choose nakatsu, altho i think they are cuter as friends. hee.
